About Us

Originally from Appleton, I came to call Madison home in 1996 when I moved here to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I graduated in 2000 with a Bachelors Degree in Marketing and Management and began my working career with Ameritech. It was during these first few years of “real world” experience that I became interested in investing and financial planning. It stemmed from a desire to understand what options I had and what financial tools would help me accomplish my goals.

I began my transition into the financial services area by obtaining my Insurance license in 2005 and my investments registrations in 2007. As I began the process of retirement planning  for my clients one of the questions that always came up was "how are we going to pay for college & still retire?"  There was a lot of information about the types of accounts one could use to save for college and how to apply for financial aid via the FAFSA but no clear explanation of how it all worked together. I began doing my own research and over time I was able to put the pieces of the financial aid puzzle together and Akamai College Consultants was born and I created the "Know BEFORE they go" program.  This is a comprehensive program that addresses your family's college planning circumstances. Our unique knowledge and experience in late-stage college planning will help to maximize the financial resources available while minimizing the reliance on student loans. Our goal is to make the cost of college reflect what a family can afford, not what the college would like them to pay.
